My wife and I went here on a Saturday night. The place was packed but we were seated right away. We ordered calamari and it came out hot. The portion was very large and it was delicious. We ordered the upside down pizza. It was very large. It was very good. We met Orlando who came out to greet us and he was very nice. The restaurant is the typical pizza place to me. Just plain tables and chairs. Not much decoration.

The pizza is really good and the service is great but definitely consider coming midday, afternoon or just do takeout. The noise level was unbearable for such a small place and made the experience unenjoyable. If you come on a Friday or Saturday night, you'll have to deal with loud Staten Island transplant types who come with their out of control spoiled kids who are not raised to behave in public. One father told his 5 year old kid very loudly that he was going to smack him in the face when he gets home. The mother seemed oblivious and she was on her phone, probably texting her boyfriend the entire time her kids were out of control and screaming. The father was shoveling food down his pie hole like there was no tomorrow. The Toms River location has great pizza as well but there is no room to eat there and the same types come and ruin it. Takeout or come early when it's dead to avoid the socially inept inconsiderate knuckle draggers.

Service was amazing. The owner was very kind, humorous and had a quick but genuine conversation with us. He asked why we were taking the slices to go and when we mentioned the drive back to JC, he said his son goes to school in Hoboken but he doesn't know how the people there survive when pizza slices are like $9. The young gentlemen who assisted us made some recommendations (all which tasted great) and he was friendly as well. The grandma slice was my least favorite but the vodka slice and chicken bacon with boom boom sauce (I think that's what it was called) were really good. Overall if I'm back in the area I'd definitely visit again! Especially with 4 slices for about $17.

Won't put the video together for a few days still probably, but finally had the opportunity to check out Brooklyn Square today in Jackson. We got a half upside down square and a half "Gravesend" which was fresh mozz, peeled tomato sauce, grana padano, and fresh basil. Both were incredible, and this is coming from someone who spent his youth eating square slices IN Brooklyn. The crust was light and airy with a unique taste, great fresh tasting sauce on both, and high quality cheese. The owner was a super friendly guy and this is priced around what I'd expect. Portnoy gave them an 8.9 and he's not even into this style of pizza (not that I always agree with him anyway haha). Brooklyn Square absolutely - Didn't Suck! Well. I don't know what else to add that's already been said for the quality and care that goes into their food. Brooklyn square provides the best pizza experience. Since they moved to Slice to order online, it's really made it easier to order from them. They are overwhelmed with orders, Slice makes it easier. The upside down is amazing. The Vodka pie might just beat it. Just a gooey mess of goodness. I never ate inside, but was recently renovated. The sesame seed crust is the best crust. Just owe it to yourself to try it. The pizza def is up in price, but you pay for quality.

Doesn't get much better than Brooklyn Square Pizza in Jackson, NJ. 1st Timers tonight, we ordered an Upside Down Square pie, a chicken parm dinner, and a stuffed shells dinner. HUGE portions. The pizza was one of the Best I've had anywhere, it was that awesome. Crisp undercarriage, but light & airy on the inside. And the sauce...that sauce was phenomenal. Had an ever so slight kick to it also. Nice tang. My wife's chicken parm dinner was outstanding, she loved it. Service was stellar, Donna was very attentive & personable. Don't think I can't heap any more praise on Brooklyn Square, but they certainly deserve it. Can't wait for a return visit !

Absolutely loved the upside down pie. While it looks like a thick Sicilian, it was light similar to Detroit style. Excellent light dough with a crispy crust, tasty sauce and it was an amazing slice. The pepperoni was more of a traditional grandma style and was also very good but I preferred the upside down pie. Excited to grab a whole pie next time and try the vodka sauce.

A coworker alerted me to this place, so I met a friend here recently to see if his claims were true. My friend was watching her carbs so it was up to me to figure out what pie to order, I knew that the upside down was the signature here, so I asked for that with garlic and shrooms on half......but was coerced by the owner to skip the garlic. Heresy! But I went along with it, he was very passionate about the product and wanted me to try it as he intended. We noshed on very good fried calamari while waiting for the massive pie to bake. We'd get that again. Her chicken panini arrived first and it looked and tasted great, no photo. The pie took several minutes to cool down, this specimen starts with fresh mozzarella on the crust, copious sauce is added and a layer of pecorino Romano tops it off. The sauce is a touch sweet but not too sweet, just enough to reduce acidity. The crust while being as thick as a Sicilian is a little bit airier, but perfectly crispy on bottom and sides. The pecorino adds a sharp contrast to sauce and creamy mozzarella. Very well done. This pie fed me for the next few days and I even had to freeze the last slice! I enjoyed it reheated just as much as the first serving. When I return I'll try the thinner square pie and hopefully I'll be allowed the garlic. The owner and entire staff are very friendly. If I lived nearby I'd be getting slices here a few times a week. We plan on returning.
